Permits
The Town of Fox Lake is zoned and zoning (land use) and building permits are required. Below information per Dodge County website www.co.dodge.wi.us: What is a Land Use Permit vs a Building Permit? A Land Use Permit and a building permit are TWO SEPARATE PERMITS. Each permit may be required for a project. Land Use Permit - is administered by Dodge County Land Resources and Park and insures compliance of the Land Use Code. Building Permit - is administered by each Town (Municipality). Building permits address the and insures compliance with the WI State Uniform Dwelling Code. When is a Land Use Permit required? Land Use Permits are issued by Dodge County Land Resources and Parks in the Shoreland District (required in all Towns); within three hundred (300) feet of the OHWM of navigable rivers or streams, or to the landward side of the floodplain, whichever distance is greater (NR 115.03(8)); Within one thousand (1,000) feet of the ordinary high-water mark (OHWM) of navigable lakes, ponds or flowages. (NR 115.03(8)); Non-Shoreland District - Required in the following Towns: Ashippun, Calamus, Elba, Fox Lake, Hustisford, Lebanon, Leroy, Lomira, Oak Grove, Rubicon, Shields, and Trenton. Land Use Permits are required before any structure is built; Move or structurally alter any structure; Before adding or replacing an existing structure. Land Use Permit Process: All Land Use Permits will be reviewed to see if the proposed project is compliant with the ordinances. Not all Land Use Permit applications are the same. Information required may vary based on the location and proposed structure. On-site inspections may be required -- Please have your project staked out before submitting your application. Possible Issues Addressed in the Review: Correct zoning district? Does the structure meet the road(s), lot lines and ordinary high water mark setbacks? Does the project require an additional permit or worksheets? Does the project require state approval? A building permit for the Town of Fox Lake may be obtained from the Town Building Inspector, Jim Trebian of General Engineering. Taxes
The assessed values of properties within the Town of Fox Lake are available from two sources on the internet. f you pay your Real Estate Taxes using the installment plan, the due date for the first installment is January 31st. If you pay your Real Estate Taxes in full, the due date for the payment is also January 31st. These payments are to be made to the TOWN OF FOX LAKE. All Personal Property Taxes (with the exception of those bills for “improvements on leased land”) and All Other Special charges and Assessments must be paid in full on or before January 31st. These payments are to be made to the TOWN OF FOX LAKE. The second installment of Real Estate Taxes will be payable to Dodge County Treasurer, 127 E. Oak Street, Juneau, WI 53039-1390 on or before July 31st, without interest or penalty.
Elections and Voting
On election days, residents of the Town of Fox Lake can vote at the Town Hall, W10543 County Road F. The polls are open for each election from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. All voters in the Town of Fox Lake must register to vote. The form to be completed prior to voting is EB-131, this form may be obtained at the Wisconsin State Elections Board website www.gab.wi.gov. Elections Board Forms. If anyone wishes to register prior to the Election Day, this form can be printed, completed and mailed to the Clerk. If a resident wants to request an absentee ballot this form is also available at the same website. Select form EB-121, print it, complete it and mail it to the Clerk. If voting by absentee ballot, a registration form EB-131 must be on file or submitted with the absentee ballot application. Garbage and Recycling
The Town of Fox Lake service vendor for garbage and recycling collection is Advanced Disposal.
