HWY 33 update from the City of Fox Lake: Good Morning,   I am providing this update on behalf of the City of Fox Lake.  I want to remind everyone that I work for the City of Fox Lake and I do not work for the Town of Fox Lake which is a separate entity from the City.  It is unreasonable to expect that I or the City of Fox Lake is somehow responsible for what goes on in the Town of Fox Lake.   Jordon Hopp, the engineer for the project sent this update below.    This week, all of the remaining culvert replacement patches between STH 73 and CTH A were paved.  Restoration work was also completed on the side slopes at all of the culvert replacement areas.  Reference staking was completed for the entire length of the project as well.  Some of these reference stakes may be placed in areas that are typically mowed near the gravel shoulders.  These stakes are very important for both the contractors and project staff for the upcoming work, so please do not move or remove them.   Beginning next week Thursday, 4/30, work will begin at the STH 33/73 intersection.  Crews will begin milling the existing pavement and then paving behind the mill.  These operations will be completed in partial sections to maintain traffic through the intersection during the work, with flagging operations in place to control the traffic movements.  The intersection work is anticipated to be completed on Monday, 5/4.   Beginning the week of May 4, mainline milling and paving operations are scheduled to begin along STH 33, likely working west to east to begin.  Flagging operations will also be utilized during the entirety of the mainline work.     No changes to the traffic control configuration have been made this week, and STH 33 will remain closed to through traffic as it has been.  When mainline milling/paving operations get towards the east end of the project, the current barricade closure at Brower Boulevard will be pushed to the east near Forest Street.  Business and resident access within the closure limits will continue to be maintained when this occurs.
